New Intel Arc GPU’s could rival RTX 3070 as per new benchmarks
We are already having reports of a new lineup of GPUs being released by intel sometime next year. They are called the Arc Series and as rumors suggest that we might be seeing 3 new GPUs as part of this release. An entry-level, mid-level, and high-end GPU.
As tweeted by APISAK, it gives us the first insight into the benchmarks of the allegedly new Arc Alchemist DG2 graphics card being tested on a new Ashes of the Singularity demo.
According to the results, we can see that the performance similar to the range of RTX 3070 or RTX 3070 Ti. The average FPS in the benchmark was 126.9 FPS, while the CPU frame rate was able to score 145.8.
But keep in mind that the test was performed with Intel’s latest-and-greatest Intel Core i9-12900K processor. The image suggests that medium graphic settings were used and the game was being played at 1080p. This is important as the game tasted is known to be more CPU intensive rather than GPU.
So we need to wait for more benchmarks to come in, then we can decide what Intel has been cooking up in their factories.
Interestingly all of the cards are expected to consume rather high amounts of power. Intel made the choice to dive into gaming graphics cards, but the jump in performance definitely cost a lot of power. The top 512 EU Alchemist card is rumored to have a TDP of 225 watts to 275 watts.
Given the performance we are seeing, we can speculate that the price for these could be MSRP $599 if only anyone can get them. The availability of the GPUs could be and I should say would be a big problem at launch.
